This month in Little Makers we worked on pinching. Here’s what we did:
Book: I call my hand gentle by Amanda Haan.
Song: Itsy Bitsy Spider. I talked about how the spider hand motion is really tricky for little fingers.
Grownup tip:
Activity: Each family got a tray with clothespins, tweezers, empty cups and a muffin tin. They also got a tray with stuff to pick up and move: beans, pom poms, buttons, felt letters, paper scraps, feathers, etc.
My only prompt was so see what you could pick up and move using the tweezers and clothespins only!
I just found your blog through Demco and I’m loving it. I’m an elementary school librarian in Texas and we started an early literacy program with our 3-5 year old neighborhood kids this last spring. Thank you for all your ideas since I mainly have experience with older kiddos.
